Purpose

Definition: The reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.

/pərpəs/, noun

In a sentence: “he lived to fulfill his purpose”

Synonyms: motive, grounds, cause, occasion, reason, point, basis, justification

Significance: Let’s put it like this: What in the world is the point of being alive if you have no purpose? Without purpose, what is the point of leaving your bed each day? Without a clearly defined mission, why would you desire to do anything in life? If you have no passion or purpose for living life, odds are high you will be rendered apathetic, hopeless and, quite frankly, miserable. Why is this? Passion and purpose work together and they are a collaboration of the soul. A sense of profound purpose is embedded in our unique God given make-up. It’s high time we turn away from the empty, hollow forces of consumerism and materialism and honor the goodness found in everyday passion and purpose.
